Last year I was approached by Microsoft (who bought Skype) to work on their pilot scheme (Skype in the classroom) to introduce authors like myself to talk to children from all around the world about our writing and answer any questions that they might have.
I was given the USA and Canada as my designated countries to talk to the children which I thoroughly enjoyed so I was very happy to have received this email;
Hello and greetings from Skype in the Classroom!
We are gearing up once again to support the many exciting lessons around World Read Aloud Day on February 24, 2016 through our guest author program. We wanted to reach out to you in hopes that you will participate again this year.
Students from around the world have benefited from having authors like you join their classrooms all year round via Skype to learn first-hand about the joys of reading and writing. During the month of February in honour of World Read Aloud, we’ll highlight these treasured guest author moments by helping drive awareness through social media and our Microsoft educator communities.

Of course I have said yes and look forward to once again being a guest speaker.
